Operations Manager

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman, Novotel and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 532 guest rooms, 3 restaurants, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, Executive Lounge and 12 meeting spaces collectively totalling 1800m2. Located at the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal, it is the first accommodation, meeting and event space to be developed in this precinct.

 

Brisbane Airport Hotels Group is currently seeking an Operations Manager to work between Pullman & ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels and Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. In this role, you will be required to report to the Hotel Manager – Rooms Division & Director of Food & Beverage and work closely with Brisbane Airport Conference Centre Manager. You must have previous experience in a 4 or 5 star Hotel environment and ideal for applicants who desire Front Office Manager or Executive Assistant Manager Opportunities in the future.

A day in the life of the Operations Manager:

 

·         Responsible for the PM operations of both the hotels and conference centre in the complex.

·         Ensuring to achieve Guest Satisfaction / Experience.

·         Coordinating with Brisbane Airport Conference Centre & provide assistance when required.

·         Hands on approach needed!

·         Maintaining a high level of service culture and engagement within front office, food& beverage, maintenance and housekeeping.

·         Ensure public areas are clean and well presented with regular monitoring.

·         Ability to handle all complaints immediately, courteously and satisfactorily.

·         Providing management support and presence visible on Front Desk, Restaurants and in the lobby during key service times.

·         Multi-tasking is a definite.

 

To be successful in this role, you MUST have:

 

·         Have an absolute “can do” attitude. 

·         Have previous experience in a variety of Food & Beverage and Front Office managerial roles is compulsory.

·         Proven experience supervising and training staff.

·         Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as the business requires; including late finishes, weekend and public holidays.

·         Good knowledge of food and beverage service and products.

·         Be well presented, with an eye for detail and good organisational skills.

Housekeeping Team Leader - ibis Brisbane Airport Hotel

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 375 guest rooms, 2 restaurants, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, Executive Lounge and 13 meeting spaces collectively totalling 1800m2 it is scheduled to open in October this year. Located adjacent to the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal, it is the first accommodation and meeting and event space to be developed in this precinct.  

Pullman & ibis Brisbane Airport is currently looking for a Housekeeping Team Leader to assist our Executive Housekeeper & Housekeeping Supervisors to ensure the professional and cost effective running of the Housekeeping department, achieving high standards of cleanliness for guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas within the hotels & conference centre.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  •      Prepare weekly staffing schedules, monitoring staff attendance and labour planning.
  •   Maintain an accurate and proper inventory of all stocks, guest supplies and linens.
  •   Ensure that the control and procedures of Lost and Found is properly recorded and stored.
  •   Accountable for the proper usage of all equipment and their serving.
  •   Ensure that room cleaning productivity is monitored closely and maintained.
  •   Handle and resolve guest complaints.
  •   Responsible for the efficient running of the laundry and cost effective use of all linen.
  •   Work closely with the laundry supplier to ensure high standard of laundering is maintained.
  •      In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper you will be responsible as acting department manager.
  •      Conducting inventories on a regular basis.

 

To be successful in this role, you MUST have:

 

  • Previous management experience in a similar role.
  • Effective time management skills and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Enjoy working with a diverse team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work a 7 day week rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Handyman - ibis Brisbane Airport Hotel

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 375 guest rooms, 2 restaurants, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, Executive Lounge and 12 meeting spaces collectively totalling 1800m2 it is intended to open in October this year. Located at the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal, it is the first accommodation and meeting and event space to be developed in this precinct.  

Brisbane Airport Hotels Group is currently seeking a Maintenance Handyman to join our Maintenance team. This is a critical position in the team and will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor & Maintenance Manager of the hotels & conference centre.

 

Key Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Complete daily rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.

  • Assist the Maintenance team in the day to day maintenance requirements of the hotels & conference centre.

  • Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.

  • Ensure all equipment is used, stored and maintained correctly. 

  • Assist in keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant & equipment.

  • On completion of daily rounds sign off any relevant section of maintenance manuals.
     

  • Liaise with supervisor / manager / contractor regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the hotel are brought back into use as soon as possible.

  • Complete all tasks where possible within the required time frame once the request is received. 

  • Report back on the completion, or delay, of any task that is guest related.

  • The recording of all maintenance tasks performed complete and incomplete including any necessary reports in reference to repairs and preventative schedules.

  • Ensure the external areas of the hotel are neat and tidy and maintained.

  • Maintain gym equipment in safe working order according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Carry out preventative and repair painting where required throughout the Hotel.

 

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:


  • Exceptional organizational skills as well as the ability to multi task.

  • Technical background with maintenance experience.

  • Available to carry our emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire systems.

  • Trade qualification in painting will be an advantage.
